Because its been adding to my bad mood since it crashed last night, have a warning.
I am a white person who believes that racism is a two way street.
I grew up as the only white atheist in our little frienship group. My best friends were a devout christian african girl and a sunni muslim bangladeshi girl. The second girl I gladly ran around collecting food for during Ramadan because she didn’t want to advertise her period. I was also close with schoolmates from India, the Middle East (which includes my first boyfriend.) and China.
So if you want to ignore all the friendships I’ve had over the years with people of various skin tones and heritiges (there are a lot and i have/do love them all dearly) for my preferring one definition over the other, you may now unfollow.
If you want to group me with assholes and stereotypes who are not and never will be anything like me, you may now unfollow.
If you’re happy to continue to treat me how I treat you and to judge on personality and not dumb generalizations or opinions that have no effect (and may never will) on our relationship, come here, I’ll get you some buscuits.
(And actually, I find it kind of interesting the bullying I suffered came from those from my country. The support came from my friends. Hell, that first boyfriend? I wish I’d never given him up. Whereas the second, a white kid, was the definition of fuckboy. Given those years I really doubt if anything could ever cause me to be prejudiced. My personal experiences have been to damn good for me to see bad for no good reason. And anyways, there;s a reason I class myself as egalitarian. Humanity is humanity is humanity. Don’t fuck with me and I wont fuck with you.)
